Road Safety 2022

Hello fellow Adventurers,

Summer 2022 Road safety, will most certainly be of concern, as traveling and camping are expected to increase substantially this summer. So lets go through some safety things and new developments here in the world of Nuttin Adventured Nuttin Gained.

We are very excited to tell you about the water in Tampa, at the Florida RV SuperShow 2022. It would seem that the 36 ft Grand Design Imagine 3150 BH, experienced a metamorphosis of sorts and grew into a 44’1″ Alliance Valor Toy Hauling 5th wheel.

So being it is bigger and longer, the possibilities of issues while traveling, From finding campsites that will accomodate the new length of the trailer, to finding a compressor that can handle the 110 Psi to fill the tires properly before towing. Under inflated tires can rapidly increase wear, and potential Blow outs, due to increased temperatures. and in the current fuel crisis that is self inflicted by the current administration, towing under inflated also lessens the MPG of your rig. There are hundred of compressors available, but after much research, we went with the best review for a Compressor and its accessories.

With the summer travel season fast approaching. it is time to have a discussion about incidents on the road, related to RV vehicles, there is going to be a lot of vehicles on the roadside this year. The primary cause will be tires. Big rigs have it the worst, as loads and heat increase, a single under inflated tire can be the cause of losing both tires in rapid succession as the single tire cannot handle the load by itself. Now the trucking industry is using inflators to keep the tires inflated to proper PSI while traveling , and have even begun to put TPMS systems on the tractors and the trailers.

Even our modern cars have it, but the RV industry cannot be everything to everyone, when it comes to TPMS systems. Although so of the travel trailers are coming with the Tirelinc system prewired in the trailers. Just add the repeater and the tire sensors, and you will have increased your safety down the roads you will travel. We have the basic 4 tires system, but the new 5 th wheel has 3 axles and so we had to buy 2 more sensors. This helps with being able to monitor the tires while traveling down the road, but unfortunately that doesn’t Guarantee that it will prevent a tire failure, but it will notify immediately of the failure. Time is of the essence in this situation. the longer you take to react, the longer the tire will cause damage to your trailer. sometimes MAJOR damage. The cost of the TPMS is less than most tires prices with installation. And a blowout could potentially put the truck and trailer in to a crash scenario, and put lives at risk as well. trucks and trailers can be replaced, but lives can’t be replaced.

So with that being said lets take a look at safety,

The chances of getting injured or killed increases dramatically when you cannot get off the roadside. You always see trucks on the side of the road with the triangles deployed, to warn motorist about the broken-down vehicle. These work great for that in daylight. But then comes the night, and the chances of an accident increases 5 fold, if not more!

So how do we provided better safety at night? we have been looking for a lighting system that works in both day and night environments, And then we were also looking for additional features, like magnets and flashlight capabilities. And these LED lights come in a big enough count size (12) to handle our new 44 ft 5th wheel and truck. Also there will be a follow up video on YouTube, to review these and so many more subjects about the Full time RV life.

Let take the roads less travelled together!

Thanks for following ,and as always we appreciate your comments and thoughts.
